Across the Floor of the Tethys Ocean is a three-day off-road journey from Aktau through some of Mangystau’s most distinctive landscapes: Torysh, Kokala, Sherkala, Airakty, Ybykty Sai, Karaman-Ata Necropolis, Kyzylkup and Bozzhyra. Available as a private or group tour, it includes two camping nights and returns to Aktau on day three.
An off-road journey through Mangystau’s key locations
Day 1
Torysh → Kokala → Sherkala → Airakty
The group departs from their hotel in Aktau for Torysh, then continues through Kokala and Sherkala towards the Airakty and Shomanai area. The overnight location is chosen according to the actual timing and conditions of the journey.
Day 2
Ybykty Sai → Karaman-Ata → Kyzylkup
Ybykty Sai, Karaman-Ata Necropolis and Kyzylkup, also known as Tiramisu. The second camping overnight is arranged along the route.
Day 3
Bozzhyra → Aktau
The upper, middle or lower Bozzhyra viewpoints are selected according to timing, road conditions and the actual route before returning to Aktau.

Mobile coverage and weather
Mobile coverage may be limited along the route, and weather-related decisions are made according to actual conditions.
What to bring
Bring weather-appropriate clothing, personal hygiene items and any necessary medication. Let us know about allergies in advance.
Transfers
We collect guests from their hotel in Aktau in the morning and return them to their hotel by evening, depending on the actual progress of the route.
